    Cellular Free-Agent; Need Smartphone

For the first time in four years my cellphone has survived long enough for me to become a free agent. In looking around it seems all the packages are fairly competitive.

We are currently ATT customers. We both own blackberry curves. We had our data plans turned off after we realized web surfing was not fun on such a tiny screen.

My wife's family is all verizon, as well as several of my friends. So there is an adavantage to verizon in that we would all use less minutes.

Hardware is where it gets difficult.

I want something that I can do some basic web surfing in between meetings or in front of the TV at home. I have WiFi in my home so it would be nice to plug into that and get a little extra speed.

I also want to be able to easily transfer videos from my computer to my phone. With the blackberry it was difficult since everything needed to be reformated.

I am favoring the iphone, since I've been an Apple user for the past 7 years. But that would mean staying with ATT.

My options with verizon seem to come down to the Droid and the BB Storm. I've heard very mixed reviews about the Storm, and the droid is too new to tell. The fact that it is motorola does not comfort me. My two previous phones to the BB were Motos and they both fell apart after less than two years.

So what do you guys think?

iPhones videos upload directly to facebook, e-mail or youtube. Get the iPhone. I'd say it's the phone/computer to beat for the next decade.
Forum heros: You spend your time sitting in circles with your friends pontificating to each other forever competing for that one moment of self-aggrandizing glory in which you hog the intellectual spotlight holding dominion over the entire shallow pointless conversation. Oh, we’re not worthy.

if you want to do the verizon thing then go with the Droid, hands down. Im with sprint and use the Hero, and several other friends of mine also use Android phones. Iphones are neat, no doubt, but i feel the functionality of the Android OS is top notch.

I have never been an Apple fan boy. As much as I really want to hate the iPhone, I just can't. The thing just works. It is not stellar in any particular category, but it does all things well. None of my previous smartphones can compare. I agree with PlasticMotif, they have the product to beat now, and it appears for the foreseeable future.

The Google phone looks nice and cool and all, but from what I have seen in reviews, it is still no iPhone. I wish it were better since they are selling them without a contract.
