Got another all clear and the next checkup is in three months. I can't for the first time in over a year and a half feel anything in my throat, that's good. There always seemed to be something slightly sticking out but that feeling has gone away.I no longer feel the need to constantly clear my throat. I have totally eliminated wheat from my diet, well 90% and oddly enough my shoulder which was impinged has stopped giving me grief as well. Lot to be said about eating real food. I have been jogging and riding a lot more and the constriction around my throat is no longer noticeable, my legs give out first these days and just on Wednesday I went over 180 BPM on my run. That's higher than the average MHR for my 50 years. I have set a goal of running 100m and 400m sprints at a track meet next spring in the over 50 group and that same track meet will have my daughters running as well.I want to run faster than them. Should be okay if I work at it. All in all I consider myself lucky. All of you out there early detection is so important!! If you feel something is up, go and get it looked at. Peace and good health you all! And I'm thinking of young Colin as I sign off. RIP young fella, you made a difference and still are.

why had I never seen this thread?

I know that I couldn't even look at the lounge for a while afterwards but missing this seems almost negligent on my part.

    Thanks for the re-post Eretz.

So it's nearly 2 years since my diagnosis. This time in 2015 I was dealing with a persistent ticklish sore throat that we thought was maybe allergies but no matter what OTC drugs I tried it wouldn't go away. I persevered and thought maybe if I just do nothing it will get better. I few very noisy nights on the booze throw in some karaoke as well with the odd cigarette or four thrown in as well didn't help it.
I had another check up this last week and now instead of bimonthly check ups the doc said every three months will do for now. My throat is a healthy pink and if I stay away from disagreeable foods I hardly remember what the cancer felt like. Fingers crossed it continues. Peace to you all.

That's good news! I've graduated to 6 month check ups -- today is actually the three year anniversary of the start of my chemo. It really seems like it was so much longer than that.

Props to Sook and Snap for being cancer-free, knock on wood.

This calls for the corgi butt-dance of joy.
