    Hi!

My name is Iain, living in WGC, UK.

    Still not quite yet 40.

Been riding bikes since I stopped riding my trike, around about 3 or 4 years old then. Have ridden most days ever since, never bothered to learn to drive.

I've got a Van Nicholas Euros Ti frame with 10 year old 105 on it that came from my 2001 Airborne Zeppelin. Which I managed to bend the 7mm Ti drop out on and have since neglected to get repaired.

I've also got a Van Nicholas Alu mountain bike.

I suffer C# and Photoshop for a living using alternating sides of my brain to do the jobs of web developer and graphic designer.

I don't have a picture of myself handy, but here's one I took on a ride once...

    *grins*

So my question would be "Where was I?"

Rep to the first to identify where I was and bonus if you can tell me when!

    Hello to you all!

Name, as much as you'd like to disclose

Joe, Sacramento, 45, male, in sales (non-bike related).

When i was younger I used to ride(road and light trail) about 26miles after work to curb insomina. It was on a dept store hybrid I paid about $200 for 23yrs ago.

I stopped riding because of some work related injuries about 17yrs ago.

I can now start riding again, and this site seems like a friendly and helpful bunch for the most part.

I havent picked a new Bike yet, perhaps I can get guidance in one of the forums. I feel I need to ramp up a little slowly, but eventually will want to do century rides. I am down to 5'10" (from 6') and up to 240#s (used to be 180# when I was in shape). I am very confused about all the different types of bike styles. A friend recommended I get a Road Sport type but I dont know what that means.

I am a homebrewer and former beer judge, an excelent amatur chef (thats how I got my wife to marry me, she cant resist my food), Im curently doing a lot with homemade extreme hotsauces, so I am both a hop-head and a hot-head I always felt a nice hoppy IPA is a great finish to a ride.

Well thats probably more than most care to know about a newbie, but felt this was the best place to post first

    Hoppy trails!

    Joe Nevans

    Hello from Pennsylvania!

Hi, my name is Rob and I'm new to the forums. I loved riding as a kid, then quit once I started driving. 20 years or so flew by, and 2 years ago I started riding again. First on a hybrid, then got hooked and got a road bike.

Since then, I'm an addict for all things cycling -- though I don't get to ride as much as I'd like. My kids are now getting old enough to be fun to ride with too -- we've been hitting some trails lately. As a matter of fact, I'm about to go ride with them now.

    Happy riding!
    Rob

    Hello everybody.
My name is Mikael and this is my first post on the forums. I live in Stockholm, Sweden, where I work as a flight technician. I've loved bicycles ever since I learned riding one at about age five or thereabout. I was into BMX at a young age (I'm 39 now) and then into mountainbikes. 2005 I got into road cycling and am hooked ever since. Nowadays I'm mostly into long distance riding (doing PBP this year) but I'm missing the intensity of the shorter rides; sprinting is FUN!
I've been bicycle commuting to school/work all my life and plan on keeping that up.
