Floor pump on a plane?
I have been spending alot of time win Phoenix on business lately. I travel with my bike and come back home on some weekends. I dont check baggage just leave a suitcase in Phoenix.
Well, my floor pump broke last week. I need to take another one out there with me. Do you all think I will get away with it as carry on?
I came to the Lounge, well because.......... its the Lounge.

I don't know anything about airplanes, and even I think the answer will be no.
Buy one and ship it out there.

I suppose you could use it to threaten to blow something up.

The answer is probably no. I had to throw a pedal wrench in the trash because they said it was over the size limit for tools
-
Yep. The carryon tool size limit is something like 6 inches. I brought some with me on a Moab trip and the TSA guy measured every ... last ... one of them. I'd say the TSA will say "no" to a floor pump just because they can.

Is Samuel Jackson starring in this one too?

Call up the airline is the first thing I would do.
-
Well, they said no at the TSA. I checked it. Then going through the line I hot the measure up. They too every tool lot and checked it, swabed it with their tester thingy, rescanned it ect........ They repoed a 8mm allen wrench because it was too long. They didnt even take a second look at the skewers though. They wernt a tool so they didnt care. I should have called my floor pump a respirator.

I can see the headlines on CNN now. "Mad cyclist shows up at airport with 3 foot long pipe bomb." That is what the thing would look like when they X-rayed your bag.... Don't try taking your bong either, same result.

Is that from personal experience?
