    Frst time fail, pretty dejected

So most of you know I broke my leg and jacked my knee up real bad tearing three of the four ligaments.

So this cycling trip was going to be a test for my leg. The day I left I was trimming trees on a ladder. We piled into a car (three of us) and headed to Ormond Beach Florida. The plan was to ride down the coast 200 miles in three days and then turn around and come back. My foot loosened up after the first ride day and I felt good. Second day was a long day 80 miles, and it was really hot. I started feeling a uti coming on. I didn't have a lot of options so rode 61 miles the next day to friends house in Hobe sound. After a night of bladder dry heaves, I knew I couldn't continue. Next day my friend hauled my bike to a shop to and had it shipped. I bought a ticket and flew out that afternoon. It was one of the most miserable flights of my life.

First time I ever tapped out on a ride.

The good news is I rode 200 mile in three days and my leg felt great.

That's unfortunate. What's a UTI? Assume that's what ended the trip and it is not leg/knee related.

So, the first time you bailed on a ride was after you retired and after a major injury? On a trip that was basically three metrics in a row?

I wish I could say the same. I know it sucks, but I do wish I could say the same.

    This!

I've accomplished one whole ride of 10 miles this year before hurting my back again working around the house. I get where Biggie is coming from though...but would still love to actually be able to ride my bike. Hell, I'd love to be able to stand up straight or walk without pain right now.

The good news is the UTI is just a temporary setback. The best news is the leg/knee held up with no problemo.
