How do I change my name to Velo Dog?

Just leafing through a nutso-survivalist catalog at work and came across a mention of a handgun called the Velo Dog.
"Whoa," I thought, "that's the all-time greatest screen name ever." So I googled Velo Dog and it got even better:

"VELO-DOG REVOLVER. The Velo-Dog revolver was a small-calibre pocket weapon firing a special 5.5mm cartridge. The name Velo-Dog is said to be derived from ‘Velocipede' and ‘dog’, since the revolver was widely sold as a self-defence arm for cyclists in the 1890's. In those days, bicycle riders penetrating some of the more primitive rural areas of Europe were liable to be savaged by dogs, and the Velo-Dog was the recommended antidote."

Buying parts to hang on your bike is always easier than getting fit.

If you feel wimpy and weak, get out and train more, ya wee lassie!

If Jesus had a gun, he'd be alive today!

So did you get to change your name or did Velodog steal it? Inquiring minds that are bored on Thursday want to know.

    Naw, I didn't steel nuthin'.

I knew the Velodog history when I came to the sight, and being both a gun owner and a cyclist I thought that it would be the perfect screen name.

I always assumed velodog was a moniker for a guy who is a regular fixture at the velodrome.

"Man, that dude's a real velo dog. He's here at the velodrome every day, all day."

Yeah I kind of thought the same thing, like the term “gym rat”.

So the question is....does velodog routinely shoot dogs when he’s out on a ride?

Only when I think that they are rabid, or am worried that they may become rabid at some future date.

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to velodog again.

Dammit to hell, as my dear old mom used to say to us kids.

I'm so dyslexic, on first reading of your post, I thought you were comparing velodog to a germ rat.

Thanks. I think this was one of my better dredges, which was one day short of its 10th anniversary. But this thread was close to celebrating its 14th birthday.

Where is everyone today - hung over?

I think the best dredges are when several posts are made before someone realizes the time lapse.
