Supposed to get cold again, started a fire. I hate using the furnace.

Yes I'm sure, that doesn't mean I'm right.

A warm fire on a Friday night is only half of the equation.

    Fire + beer = bliss

It is! He gave it to me back in 2009, one of, if not the first, when he was acid etching them. I think it holds a half case of beer. It does, however, present a drowning hazard.

So, while we wait almost 2 weeks for the tile, my wife decided that we should paint the living room. Good call! That will never be any easier!

This is the stuff we used in the cold room for floor electrical cables. We're hoping to 100% wireless soon, though.

You've done a great job. Nice and clean. Your plywood is perfect. You're an over perfectionist when it comes to centre on centre driving those wood screws into the flooring. Real art. Your home is beautiful. That hearth, stonework and disposition is brilliant. This is a great thread. Thank you for sharing it, T0G.

PS. If You Tube was around in the 80's you would have owned the channel with DIY's by now.

My saw was a Menards brand, 3 1/2 horse belt drive. Weighs about 250 I would think. The fence sucks BUT, it is as accurate as you take the care to set it up as. Does a really nice job with a moulding cutter head on it. When I built my garage in 1990, the second floor was designed as the shop. I put a 4 x 4 hinged trap door in and a winch to move stuff up and down. It is pretty much essential. I have an old steel case "school teachers" desk I use as a bench for my planer. Desk must weigh 300 pounds 4 big deep drawers and the flat center one.

On a vigorous week end ripping plywood [5/8] for the attic ... I blew the gas furnace with all the dust being sucked into the cold air return. Lower boiler later and a $grand we were back in action.

My bad. The Gizzly is 3 hp, 220v. But if you'd like, I have 600 router bits [no joking] and a steel router table that was used to build homes in the area during the 50's bought for pennies on the dollar. The poop people toss out is treasure this end.

I have two router tables , one I keep the 1/4" (1.5 hp craftsman) in with a 45 chamfering bit in. My 3 horse Porter Cable rarely sees the table. I have the Porter Cable "stair ease" mortising guage which got a lot of uze8. (we have built at least a half-dozen sets of hardwood stairs, mortised stringers (two in our house) I wish I had 600 router bits considering the last straight 1/2 inch (1/2" shank) carbide, cost like 60 or 70 bucks and it was a while ago.

    I enjoy building stairs!

These were Parade of Homes, from a local builder. What I found odd, as in your chainsaw threads, no one knows how to sharpen. All those bits were as dull as Q-Tips. I can never envision the waste vs haste.

Carbides? For 600 bits I would buy diamond grinding wheels!!! Carbides are hard to sharpen. Problem is, when you sharpen a bit, it doesn't cut an identical profile as pre, sharpen.

Btw, love the term " dull as q-tips" !

I ordered a 6 pak of diamond jigsaw blades! I just couldn't figure out how else to cut them. (9mm porcelain, bonded to a plasticish tray, snaps together to guarantee perfect alignment and grout lines

Yes I'm sure, that doesn't mean I'm right.
