    Into the Mystic

    Why? Because.

VM's original isn't available on YouTube, so this one will have to do. It's pretty darn good.

Indeed. Though I prefer Astral Weeks to Moondance, they're both brilliant.

I know better, but regardless, I still like the ZBB version quite a bit.

Van's version is music of the Gods. It gets no better in music.

That girl is beautiful. I think I'm in love. And Wikipedia says her and Mr. Ginger McScruffleface are "no longer romantically linked"? Giggity giggity.

VM crushes everything on Astral Weeks.

If you play that song to a woman and can't get laid..well, you seriously fail.

I'm heading up to Canada for a week of fishing, canoeing, and camping/backpacking. You better believe I'll be rockin' the Lightfoot on the roadtrip up north.

St. Domenic's Preview is solidly in my current play list.

I'd embed a video if I wasn't such a tool and don't know how to do it.

Saw him live 40-something years ago. He was opening act for Joe Cocker's insanely good Mad Dogs and Englishmen band, with Leon Russell on keyboards, guitar, and music director and MC duties. That was a pretty good show, even though VM was awkward and uncomfortable as a live performer. Once the song started, he was amazing, but in between it seemed like he didn't really want to be there.

    That's Van Morrison, pretty much.

My fave Morrison song, from my favorite album. Mainly cause I'm nuts about Toni Marcus' violin.

Sad to say, while I was familiar with some of Van Morrison's music(loved Wavelength), it was through The Waterboys that I really came to explore and love his music.

Then Shirley you're aware of their cover of Sweet Thing, one of the best covers evar:

Absolutely, and dare I say it, a better version than Van's own original.

Steve Wickham is such a great violin player.
