Lola versus Powerman and the Moneygoround, Part One

    AKA: The Kinks Appreciation Thread.

Sitting here on a Sunday morning listening to the Kinks on random and doing a little online research... I'm tapping my foot and bobbing my head and singing the melodies and just generally feeling the music. That's when you know it's good.

    Always liked this tune:

I was really psyched when I saw "The Darjeeling Limited" with some lesser known Kinks songs getting played.

That's a great one for sure.

I haven't seen the Darjeeling Limited yet but I remember it having Strangers in the trailer, which is another great song from the same album.

I never knew much about the Kinks until I saw DL. They have two songs on the soundtrack, and both are awesome.

Hey, I have that on vinyl! Kinks are surely underappreciated, methinks.

For some reason I've always loved their song "Victoria" (maybe it's because that was the name of the first girl I had a crush on).

Another one of my high school favorites. Between the Kinks and David Bowie.....I was not part of the in crowd....

Oh man, I used to have these freaky David Bowie daydreams in high school.
