NNC: shimano *new* trim feature = BRILLIANT!

ahhh, so nice to be back on a lightweight, aerodynamic, streamlined, quiet "real" road bike...Finished paying off my Scott S30 last Wednesday, just in time for the holiday, got to try out my new lights and noticed some differences between this "performance" bike and my Long Haul Trucker "touring" rig. First off, the sounds of silence! No fenders rattling around or friction shifting chain noise (i reached for the bar end shifters a few times before I realized I have brifters again). Second, its so lightweight and fast! The little Florida roller hills dont get easier but I do get over them faster. Thirdly, i'm gonna have to get used to this "performance" saddle, my brooks is broke in like a lazyboy recliner and this proprietary seat isnt as comfortable.

Left her locked in the shed the rest of the weekend as I was camping and mtn biking until yesterday I rode w/ a couple newbiez on a rails to trail route to a greasy spoon breakfast spot and had guitless biscuits and gravy, country ham, homefries and coffee. Supposed to rain this evening so I will be "waxing" her in the shed to keep her new and shiny as long as possible....

(sorry for the crappy flipphone pic, i've ordered Boo a coolpix for Christmas

i try to make up for my lack of cycling prowess w/ humor thanks for pointing it out;) Right now i'm stuck in limbo, can't keep up w/ the uberfast racebois but I end up holding back for my potsmoking guitar playing friends, I see lotsof solo rides in my near future.

be sure to keep lots of lube on that chain if you're leaving it in the shed during Florida winters.

Dude, I can't believe you actually buy lube. I figured you for a DIY luber.

3/4 gallon mineral spirits (reserve that quart for other uses) + 1 quart Mobil 1.

Apply after rides. Wipe clean. Mineral spirits allow oil to penetrate then evaporates leaving the oil where you want it.

So much code. So little time.

BTW, Royal Purple motor oil and mineral spirits = Purple Extreme chain lube.
