    The Official Pet Photo Thread...

From the many threads here on domestic animals one can only determine that the Loungers love their pets! To that end I propose an official pet photo thread. I would love to see it stickied, or maybe it will be active enough to keep it near the top. To that end I will start with some photos of our "other" family members, and I hope many will join in and post up some images of their loved ones too

    In order:
    Morai and Jacques smooching.
My boy Maverick the water dog.
Our newest guy who was neutered today, Zukiyaki.
    Our oldest rescue dog Opa.
Luna the rescue cat, in Christmas form.
    Gracie the hay burner.

Our dog Lacey - great personality, loves to play, a bit noisy sometimes (as they said when we got her, collies are a vocal breed).

The first dog is our Rescue Greyhound. Raced in Pensacola and was adopted at age 2. Almost zero body fat and she loves the snow in Germany.

This is the day she came off the track in Pensacola as a retired racer. Notice the posture change one year in a family setting makes on a dog who is deprived any loving attention it's whole life. She walked around like this for about a month. You could see her confidence and pride come in over time. I never noticed when we got her, but looking back over a time lapse of pictures it is very obvious. She lost five pounds in the first three months. Going from a diet of raw or par-boiled meet to nutritious food took huge amounts of muscle off her.

The next dog is my brat Italian Greyhound Sidda Lee. She is seven now and is all attitude.

The last one is our old lady Staunzi. She is a 12 year old MinPin. She can't see or hear anymore but loves being carried.

Greyhounds Jack and Eddie, now 10 and 9 respectively. Both were prolific winners and not retired until they were 5.

Ziggy is a whippet/Rhodesian Ridgeback mix we rescued, and is the sweetest, most intelligent dog I've ever met or owned, including Border Collies.

We got Kate (formerly Catunda Kate) right from the greyhound kennel after she had 2 litters of puppies. She came from Ireland, racing there, then the East Coast, then here in Texas. She is exceptionally sweet, and is almost 12.

Ever wonder where they got the idea for the battle droids in Star Wars?

At the extreme end of the size scale (we have 5 dog rescues total) is LuLu the Chihuahua. I've never considered one and hate most of the Chihuahuas I've met, but this one is a wonderful, sweet girl that has stolen our hearts.

The only thing that really worried me was the ether. There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. And I knew we'd get into that rotten stuff pretty soon.

Chaco the wunder dog. 12 years old and still chases a frisbee like its filled with meth.

    Happy assistant.

And the new add to teh house: Bootsy Collins, the 7 toed cat.

Both are adopted as rescues. Both are characters that add to the richness of the house.

here's Leela (top) and Lily (bottom). Leela is our new rescue and has adjusted just fine to her new home and Lily tolerates her more and more. I think this the only picture of Leela with her tongue mostly in her mouth. it usually sticks out about an inch all the time, even when sleeping.
