If you have an Android phone, get a bar code reader app, use the app to take a pic, wait for the magic...

Takes me to something called the "Sallie Mae Mobile Banking" app, so I think you'd call that A. Real. Bad. Idea.

But I thought the Treo only reads those QRs from the Royal Society notes.

I believe it is called a data matrix, used to store large amounts of data with an ASCII character set. Cool stuff will happen if you scan it during a full moon.

Apparently, you are as techie as you thought. You answered your own question faster than I could respond.

BTW, the QR reader that I got for my iPhone isn't nearly as good as the one I had on my droid. That being said, I only found it to be cool for about 15 minutes. The I lost interest.

Google goggles on the other hand was fun for way over an hour.

Right you are. I didn't scan it with my good eye which brings to mind a question to pose in the lounge later.

    Thanks

But it's gonna take you 6 months to redraw that with your stylus.

But .... a long NNC session and jerkin' the gherkin to some old-school pr0n... not necessarily in that order. Much cheaper than H&B. JustTooBig

What fun. So far I've scanned codes for a Diamondback Podium Six, Paved magazine (recognition fail), a two pack of GE nightlight light bulbs and a bottle of Karo Waffle Syrup.

I can get a case of 12 bottles of the Karo Waffle Syrup for $41.65. I'm thinking about buying a like quantity of bacon, and just having breakfast for the rest of my days.

So you are in a store, you are going to scan the QR on the display and go to the website and read more about the product.......
I work with these things daily and find them teh stupids
I'm a big believer in 'make your pitch in as fast and simple as you can' but maybe I'm out of touch with the phone surfing generation. Does anyone here scan the QRs while shopping?

I have on things I don't know much about. I used it several times when I was TV and BluRay player shopping. I like reading the consumer reviews and getting technical specs type stuff. I don't particularly care to be redirected to the manufacturer website to read more marketing drivel.

Very rarely. I've done it when buying an item I'm not very familiar with to find out if it's way cheaper somewhere else.
