    Originals still around?

Any originals to the forum still around? Curious, as I have been away for a loooong time.

    What ever happened to OES?

I joined MTBR in 2002 but forgot my login or something and rejoined under a new name.

I must have visited here (or the old MTBR roadie forum) for a while before buying my road bike. I remember Paint, JoeDaddio, Gut, ThinkCooper (I miss his posts, the others I never real took a shine too) etc.

Some would put the start at Roadies Rejoice on MTBR. Just to make you feel more the n00b.

Yeah I was posting there as Hank when it started in the late 90s. Then later as GTX and finally/currently as Henry Chinaski (got locked out a few times when I'd forget login or software changed).

I was on the Roadies section of MTBR in the late 90s. I think I've been on RBR since the beginning. Had to rejoin once, due to a software change I think. Or maybe forgot login info. I really don't remember why now.

At one point this forum was a part of my life, and developed some real friends here. Was just curious about who was still around.

    Thanks

I'm pretty much a noob if you go with the 1999 date. I'm around here a few times a week. Not the many times an hour like the old days.

Was on MTBR, then got a lot of crap after buying a fixie and having the nerve to post about it! Came over here and the Lounge grew on me. Can discuss anything here including bikes, without getting the look you would get with actual 3D people.

Also had to re-join after the crash, so my join date is a bit off. Never did join FB so I'm way out of the loop, though sometimes I wonder about the drama that's going on over there!

My personal page says 14 years. I might have migrated here from mt. bike as well, can’t remember back that far.

I do find it unfortunate that the forum seems to be fading away, fewer and fewer posts.

I’m also a member at bikeforums.net which seems much more active. I wonder if the the format being different makes a difference.

I have no idea how long I've posted here, but I must have started about the time I bought my Mapei Colnago, about 2000. Anyway, I keep plugging along. I enjoy the site. I enjoy my fellow posters. And I gotta say that the posters here are far, far more articulate, intelligent and open-minded than the posters on my other go-to website, Fiddler's Hangout.
Mapie is a conventional looking former Hollywood bon viveur, now leading a quiet life in a house made of wood by an isolated beach. He has cultivated a taste for culture, and is a celebrated raconteur amongst his local associates, who are artists, actors, and other leftfield/eccentric types. I imagine he has a telescope, and an unusual sculpture outside his front door. He is also a beach comber. The Rydster.

I came across from MTBR in 2002 but the lounge was too strange for me for the first few years. I think people get older and move on. That's life

I had to look at my own profile to see. Been a member since 2006, but not a prolific poster so my poast count is kind of low.

I haven't seen Hollywood Jeff in these parts for awhile.

    Great interview
