The Wizard of Westwood is down to his last possession...
Sadness, though Wooden's had a great long run.
Maybe it's premature, but eventually, a 99-year old man, even a basketball deity, is going to pass, and this got me thinking: Who would be on your short list of pallbearers for Coach Wooden?
Kareem, and Walton, no contest. Goodrich? Sidney Wicks? Walt Hazard? Who else?
Daily Bruin says he is resting comfortably for now. Don't know how many more OT's he has left but he has had an amazing run I can say that! I remember going to the Pavilion as a kid and watching the Bruins practice in the afternoons. It was only a .25 cent bus ride and it was hours of entertainment for us. I got to meet some amazing players over the years there before they were famous.
The fat lady has sung! He just couldn't make the last OT and pull it out. Godspeed John Wooden.
R.I.P John Wooden, you will be missed by many generations of basketball fans. I am sure the flags in Westwood will be at half mast.
Kinda sucks... four more months and he woulda made 100.
Still, what an amazing life. May we all achieve like the Wizard did. He changed a lot of lives.
Monkhouse: I want to die like my Dad did, peacefully, in his sleep... not screaming in terror like his passengers.
xxl: Your post is so stupid, if stupid had a cognitively-impaired relative, it would be your post.
Platypius: I'd rather fellate a syphilitic goat than own a Cervelo.
AM999: Romney 320 Electoral votes, Obama 218. Colorado profs' prediction model, 100% accurate since 1980.
Seam: Saw Bjork poop onstage back in the day, it blew my teenage mind.
