you surely could. they seem to be available for about 50% off now, which makes them nearly worth it. i have a thorough dislike for pretty much everything Mavic makes apart from track wheels, but they'd be fine. they're not at all aero, the freehub needs lubricating every couple of months, and the rims tend to crack around the huge threaded spoke holes, but they'll work.

I would race on them if I could get a pair for less than $600. You can do better with a custom build than all of the ksyrium models.
