Another 1%-er: Don't want to pay his fair share to NY and the Fed Govt

Paulson Said to Explore Puerto Rico as Home With Low Tax - Yahoo! Finance

Billionaire Hedge Fund manager, John Paulson is looking to exploit a Puerto Rican law:

Ten wealthy Americans have already taken advantage of the year-old Puerto Rican law that lets new residents pay no local or U.S. federal taxes on capital gains, according to Alberto Baco Bague, Secretary of Economic Development and Commerce of Puerto Rico. The marginal tax rate for affluent New Yorkers can exceed 50 percent.

No. But he has made lots of smart moves. You are correct, avoiding the ridiculous Obama tax hikes does not take a genius.

Paying excessive taxes is not patriotism. It is stupidity.

No, this POS is trying to avoid the 15% tax rate in capital gains. Even that is too high for this pathetic excuse for a human being. This the man that said that everyone can invest and benefit from capital gains, so the low tax rates are fair.

The thing that you're missing is that BO didn't let the ink dry before he started attempting another round of attacks on upper income taxpayers. There can be little doubt that he believes that the left-officy has increased sufficiently to ensure that taxes on achievers will continue to increase enough to help finance the culture of entitlement's march toward socialism.

The thing about an outgoing tide is that eventually everybody that doesn't move to deeper water ends up with the bottom feeders. With this new level of success in class warfare, young and motivated entrepreneurs are foolish to ignore other options.

Do you file taxes on a form 1040EZ? Do you itemize your personal deductions? If you itemize you are doing only to save a few bucks on your taxes and avoid paying you fair share just same as this guy. Moving to PR is legal correct? Seems fair to me as I don't seek to punish the wealthy with taxation. I see taxation as method acquire money need to run government. I don't see taxation as method to punish anyone.

Well to be fair and balanced about this, what "patriotic duty" does US law require of global-operating corporations, or mutual-fund managers that is required by US citizens?

Isn't it funny how the targets of class warfare don't just sit and take it like some masochistic trollop! Interesting how that works; smart enought to get rich, and still smart enough to know how to avoid the intent of those who mean to do him and his wealth harm.

Too bad the majority of people in this country aren't that smart. We, as in the U.S., are not smart enough to see how most of the politicians in DC are millionaires themselves, and as the majority are also lawyers, have rigged the system to enrich themselves without being subject to the taxes they are applying to others.
As long as people believe in absurdities they will continue to commit atrocities. Voltaire

A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned - this is the sum of good government. Thomas Jefferson
