I found this gem in today's Sunday paper. Should be enough to piss off everyone
...From the repeal of Glass-Steagall under President Clinton to the unfunded wars and Medicare prescription drug benefits of George W Bush to the defense the of mortgage lunacy by Barney Frank to the crony capitalism of Bailout Nation to cash for Clunkers and the rest of the non-stimulus of Barrack Obama, the nations economic policies have gone completely off the rails. There are no guiding principles as to what government should do, how much it should spend or what a “fair” tax system would look like. There is only expediency- promising voters more and more government paid services paid for by someone else and doing favors for political contributors.
Everybody know how to lose weight- eat less and exercise more. Everybody know how to solve the fiscal mess in Washington- spend less and tax more. When are politicians going to stop indulging in the equivalent of “The Chocolate Brownie Fudge Diet?" Some people would be tempted to quote Mark Twian who wrote, “Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were in congress. But I repeat myself.” Jeffery Scharf
