Cohen's got 99 problems and Stormy is just one.

Why would the FBI care about a ten year old affair? Campaign finance?

One source familiar with the matter told CNN that included in the documents authorities seized was information related to Stephanie Clifford, better known as porn actress Stormy Daniels, who alleges she had an affair with Trump in 2006 that the White House has denied.

Lying to investigators... Violations of campaign finance laws... Who knows.

Remember Clinton was dinged on perjury for lying about a blowie... As the conclusion to an investigation on a $100,000 real estate deal called white water.

We'll find out sooner or later. The joys of having a gang of incompetent crooks in office... There's no knowing what of all the ethical trespasses they'll be charged for.

More Americans wanted Hillary Clinton to be President than wanted Donald Trump.

Donald Trump has never had a wife he didn't cheat on.

Sure but Trump hasn't testified about anything just yet. He hasn't lied to investigators about Stormy and neither has Cohen.

The only thing would be campaign finance. So...she probably provided some evidence that she was paid by Cohen or through some shell and the FBI is following the money back to Trump.

Now is it FBI jurisdiction to investigate campaign finance?

Either way...How embarrassing would it be if supposed billionaire Trump had to use campaign money to pay $130,000 hush money.

To answer my question: No and yes.

The typical investigative process does not involve the FBI. The FEC writes a complaint letter, as they did with Clinton.

    https://www.washingtontimes.com/news...nc-violations/

But the FBI can investigate these matters.

Bloomberg reporting that Mueller brought information involving Cohen to Rod Rosenstein, who decided that the matter should be handled by the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York rather than by Mueller’s team

Maybe this is something other than Stormy. Surely Trump used Cohen for a variety of things. It's a fine line between attorney an consigliere.

It just doesn't feel appropriate for the FBI to investigate $130K in hush money.

I'm seeing bank fraud mentioned. But no one know of course.

As for the FBI investigating what might seem to be state level crime, their general tasks include interstate crimes. States have no authority in other states. They also look into cases of public corruption. They also assist in state and local investigations, not taking over but offering resources. I could go on, but basically there are many ways that the FBI gets involved in a lot of different situations.

That's rich. Tell me again how many hundreds of millions of USD the GOP wasted on trying to find anything to stick on Hillary Clinton?

The difference here...is that only Trump has been brought to court 1,500+ times as a defendant and ran blatant frauds like Trump university and Trump condos. Trump is pretty much the picture definition of a white collar criminal. And the people he hires like Pruitt and Flynn and so on are all cut from the same cloth.

As usual the smear campaign makes no sense.

Mueller (a Republican) Rosenstein (a Republican) Geoffrey Berman (a Republican), The judge who signed off and Federal prosecutor in Manhattan (both Republicans) are conspiring to lead a partisan witch hunt.

For those scoring at home...the fbi serving a warrant is now "an attack on the country" according to douchenozzle.

Actual attacks on the country unavailable for comment. Except for bowling green...they agreed that it was a horrendous attack and has brought on an onset of ptsd

    Judge Napolitano:

“That evidence would have to be such as to persuade a neutral observer, the federal judge, that it is more likely than not that among these seized documents is evidence of crimes by Mr. Cohen or Mr. Cohen and the president,”

Law enforcement, doing their job, is a really bad thing. Sorry, take that back. Let's start again:

Mueller investigating $150,000 donation Ukrainian steel titan made to Trump's foundation in 2015 for 20 min video talk Trump gave to conference in Kiev. Michael Cohen arranged the payment. Trump was running for GOP nominee at the time.

What are the odds that a raid on DONT's lawyer fell on the same day as the finalization of this lawsuit?

Not only is Berman a Republican but....

He donated $5000 to the Trump campaign

He was personally interviewed and appointed by Trump

He was a law partner of Rudy Giuliani and replaced Preet Bharara (after Trump fired Bharara for refusing to resign)

But yea.... it's a witch hunt.

You know sh!t is real when the POTUS hand picked U.S. Attorney obtains a search warrant to go after the lawyer of the POTUS. I can't imagine what went through the minds of everyone who signed off on the warrants. They must have some serious iron clad evidence to make such a move.

That he was a law partner of Giuliani or donated to the Trump campaign doesn't necessarily mean much. Bracewell (formerly Bracewell Giuliani before they severed ties during campaign season) has over a hundred partners in a dozen or so offices. Some of the partners don't even know each other other than perhaps shaking hands at the partner's retreat. Within large law firms, it's not unheard of for large contribution bundlers to hit up partners for contributions and there can be significant political pressure within the firm to make such contributions.

That being said, I have no doubt Muller had plenty of evidence to show probable cause, and it would have been difficult for any reasonable judge to turn down the warrant request.
