    Harvey Weinstein...he sounds nice.

Another man behaving badly in Hollywood — this time, Harvey Weinstein. What a shocker - LA Times

Okay who here was surprised when they heard about this and the first thought was...I thought he was gay?

Essentially this guy sounds like a true serial predator.

Went to the La Times because of the NY Times paywall thingie, it is early in the month and you don't want to shoot your wad when there are so many stories about Trump that will come out.

I came of age in the 60s and 70s, he began, when all the rules about behavior and workplaces were different. That was the culture then. I have since learned it is not an excuse.
Wait, he's only 10 years older than me, and at no time in my life would I would have that sort of behavior would have been anything but slimy, and as an adult, that it was illegal. I knew it was going on, the casting couch cliche has been based on reality since there have been men in power, but that is a weak excuse. For an incident in 1970? Sure, but in 1990? 2010? Nope.

It was a bit of an open secret, so it seems: https://www.vox.com/culture/2017/10/...assment-rumors

Meaning if you were in the industry, you likely knew. Outside, not so much.

Since Weinstein is a Democrat you won't find any conservatives here supporting his right to sexually abuse women. Now if he was a Nazi, a Trump supporter, or a conservative pedophile you'd be reading that we need to wait until the judge decides his guilt or innocence.

Photo ops at events are proof of very little in terms of "sticking together".

Got anything else? Or just going for the low hanging fruit?

Hopefully Weinstein didn't grab women by the pu$$ies... apparently women let stars do that. That would be embarrassing.

Definitely. Republicans are trying to make the case that Democrats that accept contributions from accused female abusers are worse than actual accused female abusers.

i.e. accepting a donation from Weinstein is worse than being Trump.

I honestly don't know what to make of the sudden onslaught of women (and men) who are coming forward with their stories regarding Weinstein.

As much as I would like to be able to empathize, I can't. But I also can't help but wonder if even a small percentage of these stars had come forward in a meaningful way they might have prevented this sleazebag from assaulting women years ago.

First of I don't follow Weinstein, don't follow the Hollywood scene. I'm just an internet opine. Here's what I have to say, randomly:

    1. Why are all his other big-shot Hollywood producer buddies, like Speilberg, Lucas, et al, don't speak out against him? They all have pretty much kept silience. The few Hollywood celebs who speak out are the few female celebs,... which bring up to point #2 below..

    2. Those celebs who now come out and say they were harassed and raped. Well, to that I ask, do they have a problem when they too slept with high power men to advance their career? I'm not saying that all of them do. But there is no secret that there are plenty of women in the movies and entertainment industry who would grasp at a chance to sleep with a high power producer just for a chance to get their foot in some gig.

    3. I'm also a little disappointed that the Jewish media don't come down hard on Weinstein. Well, there is a Jewish journal called Tablet, whose editor Mark Oppenheimer, came down hard on Weinstein in this article, but then the editor was then criticized by many other Jewish journals for his harsh words, and thus he was forced to issue an apology. Really? Jews cannot play homerism for one of their own when they expect the greater society to come down hard on white hate groups and extremist Muslims.

Maybe that's why DONT took Nancy O'Dell furniture shopping?

Here's what he had to say about that:

"I did try and f*ck her. She was married. And I moved on her very heavily. In fact, I took her out furniture shopping. She wanted to get some furniture. I said, 'Ill show you where they have some nice furniture.' I moved on her like a *****, but I couldnt get there. And she was married. Then all of a sudden I see her, shes now got the big phony tits and everything. Shes totally changed her look."

FWIW, Trump's wife was about three months pregnant with Barron at the time. Guess Melania already had furniture?
