MUSLIM NURSES: No Need to Wash Their Hands
One of my friends just posted this article on Facebook. In a nutshell it says that female Muslim nurses and doctors no longer have to wash their hands before procedures, but rather they are permitted to wear the long plastic sleeves, which are admittedly less sanitary. The rules mandating all medical staff should have bare elbows was based upon the notion that long sleeves spread bacteria more easily.
I don't care which of the unsubstantiated beliefs you hold. If you don't scrub your hands and arms before you perform a procedure on me, you will not be my nurse or doctor.

Any idea what became of this? did the policy actually go into effect? what effect did it have on infection rates ?
a quick glance at the source material here shows the same vitriolic opinion piece from over three years ago.
on its face, not washing sounds like a pretty bad idea.
But I don't like the article's use of stuff like "englandistan," or phrases like, Islam has been at war with the West nearly continuously since its inception."
Beforehand the hospitals had already established that wearing long sleeves was more conducive to spreading bacteria, particularly "superbugs" which are just strains you'd only find in a very sterile environment like a hospital. It's evolution at work. Those anti-bacterial soaps kill 99.9% of the organisms, but it's that 0.1% that's genetically resistant to it which gets to reproduce.
Do you have a link to an actual News article??

LOAD OF CRAP.
Next I'll be seeing a blog that's claiming that Democrats will soon be forcing men to marry other men.
Did a little digging.
!) Everyone has to wear short sleeves.
2) Everyone has to scrub down.
3) Muslim nurses do not like to show bare arms.
4) Solution:....After scrubbing down, muslin nurses don a pair of sterilized arm coverings.
5) Problem solved........This is a non story blown into a story by right wing racists.

After looking through the Right-Wing Extremist sites Sauron cited, I finally found one with a link to the Lame Stream Media. NHS said nothing about nurses/doctors not having to wash their hands. After scrubbing up like every other nurse/doctor, disposable sleeves covering forearm can be put on if a person wishes.

I wonder if some of the people who like to take a dump in this forum wash their hands after.

So instead of getting our knickers in a twist about Muslim nurses in the UK, how about getting our good Christian doctors right here in the USA to wash their hands.
