Overheard in the halls of Congress

With the mid-term elections on the horizon, we sure donít want this trend to continue. Ok, letís be sure to cut any support for jobs Ö and particularly those local and state positions. The public will be even more angry about their government when the police and fire donít show up.

I went to the article and could not find that graph. What exactly is that graph of? Yeah, I understand the dates and the numbers, but what do the numbers represent and the different colored bar graphs?

Where does your reference from police and fire not showing up come from? Was that referenced in the article somewhere that money for those departments is going to be cut? Granted, I only read three quarters of the article, so maybe I missed it in the last fourth.

Chart is from Steve Benen as used by Ezra Klein in The Washington Post illustrating job growth/job lose by month (Y Axis) over time (X Axis).

Fire/Police job cuts link and widely discussed yesterday on the Senate debate over the jobs bill.

But was he "knowing" or "other," and did he use words?
