I was just wondering if anyone knows why Garmin does not use the cervelo S5 for racing and why they choose to use the R3? Is there a reason for this?

That's what the riders have chosen. No clue why but it was mentioned in a few articles about Flanders

Can you post a link to an article possibly? I am really curious because i thought the s5 was the one of the best bikes on the market.

One is more of a more "comfortable" bike for the cobbles and the other is more of a stiff smooth road machine.. I think there are articles on it in Velonews and cycling news..

The team uses the S5 in many races - they've been using the R3 for courses where they want wider 28mm tires.
