Hind sight on Matt White's decision

So Goss took the silver. Australia has THE best leadout man in pro cycling and they didn't bring him. Why would you leave Mark Renshaw off a team when you know it is going to come to a field sprint. I think TerryB could win a field sprint if he was led out by Mark Renshaw. Was it because of his relationship with Cav? Who knows, but I see it as a huge miss. Of course he is defending his decision, but to lose the gold medal by just that much and counting on Hausler to do the positioning is a fail in my eyes.
Cyclists really need to learn a little Rule #5.

Maybe they tried to sign Renshaw for GreenEdge and he didn't so they snob him?

Magic powers of Renshaw are overestimated. He is just a leadout man. Goss didn't lose from the back because of lack of leadout man. He lost from the front, because Cav was faster

Having said that, yes, Renshaw should have been part of the team, and it wouldn't change a thing.

Why the left him out is beyond me. But who knows, maybe there would have been a bit of Cav-Renshaw camaraderie at the end?

Cav said of Renshaw, "put it this way, I'm glad he's not here.." or words to that effect.
There is NO rehearsal - this is the real thing.

TerryB would've solo'd that race FOR THE WIN.
