The French never seem to like you until you lose.
I just realized that I never cheered for Contador until he wasn't winning. The way he can animate a race, especially when he's behind on GC, makes a boring race more interesting. Just when you think it's over, they pull a rabbit out of the hat and you start to wonder about the possibilities.
I prefer the post-ban Contador. He helped make the Vuelta relevant and exciting last year. I hope that even after the setback on Ventoux, he will continue to attack and keep Sky guessing. I hope the teams will continue to heap abuse on Sky, so that when/if Froome wins, there will be no doubt as to who was the strongest rider. Not a grinding, monotonous, calculated march to victory, but a hard-fought one.
Let's hope tomorrow is more interesting than today.
