the Cannondale team in the E3 this morning

Watch the highlight reel here. Boonen attacked and dragged the big names away, and Sagan missed that move. So the Cdale team hits the front, tows Peter up to the back of the break, dumps him off and then sits up, and that became the winning split. Just, absolutely flawless execution of protecting their guy.

Boonen crushing it and looking like he's on a training ride

Sagan showing he doesn't have the race savvy quite yet for the classics. He won't have that kind of help @ Flanders or Roubaix

I guess Fabian isn't as intimidated by Sagan as some believe
one nation, under surveillance with liberty and justice for few

    still not figgering on biggering

It was a good race. You need luck in those races and Sagan had none yesterday. He had to get a bike change and then burned some matches to catch back on to the group. When Fabian went, Sagan's legs failed him and it was lights out.

Fabian is still a monster. If he gets a gap, it's over.

at least as long as there's a strong sprinter in the chase group so most of them won't work. It's a bit late getting your sh!t together when he is a minute up the road.

I think that, if Sagan didn't have to chase so much (he was too far back earlier, had to chase, that's his mistake. Then again after his mechanical, team did great work though), he would have been able to stay with Fabian when he went... He needs luck yes but he needs to stay very close to the front all the time, very important in those races, there are splits pretty much everytime they hit a berg. Sagan needs to stay close to Fabian and Boonen at all time. I wonder how it would have turned out if he had make it with Fabian...

It looked to me like the others were cooked and even when they got it together, Sagan and Chavanel were killing them in the rotation.

I saw Sagan chasing back after a bike switch prior to the big attacks. As the OP said, great work by Cannondale to deliver him to the move. Amazing more guys didn't make it on from that work.
