I just found out that my stopover of a few days in Zurich next month overlaps with the Tour de Suisse! It looks like I might have two days on which I could catch stages 1 or 2. My wife will be with me and I think she won't want to spend two days watching racing, so I should pick one.
I have never been to a pro tour before and am wondering if anyone can offer advice on "how" to attend a pro race stage. Stage 1 is a long, flat stage from Schaffhausen, on the German border, to a small town in Switzerland. Stage 2 is a 36km time trial in that same small town. I am thinking of opting to watch the TT, since it 'd give more chance to see more riders rather than one minute of a peloton whizzing by.
Can anyone offer experiences and advice on where to position myself, how early to get there, etc.? The TdS website doesn't offer much help in the way of start times, etc.
Thanks.
