So, whats the scoop on that guy dressed in the red devil suit?

Just curious, anybody know anything about this guy, or are there any websites with info? I've seen him several times over the years running alongside riders. Is this guy a real diehard cycling fan, or just some nut who wants attention?

I think he's a diehard cycling nut that wants attention. As I recall, he's from Germany and is also known for being quite smelly.

He's a German fan who goes to almost every major cycling race (and lot of not so major races) in the same outfit. If I remeber correctly he started back in the late 80's. The outfit stays the same but he changes the pitchfork depending on the event.

He smells bad because he sleeps in his car and he doesn't get to "clean up" very often. Most Germans get 6 to 8 weeks vacation a year. He spends it following the big races, and acting like a nut.
I believe that in his real life, he's a lathe operator.

Buying parts to hang on your bike is always easier than getting fit.

I took lessons in bicycle riding. But I could only afford half of them. Now I can ride a unicycle. -- Steven Wright
