I've read countless reviews/threads and it appears the KK road machine provides a slightly more stable and realistic feel than the Fluid 2. However, it appears the quick release available on the Fluid 2 allows for easier mount/dismount of the bike. My bike's not going to be sitting in the trainer even when I'm using the trainer 4-5 times a week so the ability to mount/dismount easily is a factor for me. Likewise, my wife and I will be sharing the trainer as well so the ability to switch between 2 different bikes (had planned on picking up an extra skewer for whatever trainer I decide on) easily is a factor as well.
Does the quick release on the Fluid 2 make a huge difference or does the mount/dismount on the KK road machine (not the pro version) become a trivial task once you've done it a few times.
I'm not a serious cyclist/racer or anything like that.. Just trying to come up with a solution to get some miles in during the winter or late night/early morning..
