    Polar CS100

Has anyone used this new Polar computer yet? It looks to have a great combination of features when used with their wireless cadence option.

Is the Polar wireless cadence reliable?

Is the new stem-or-bar mounting system solid? Can't tell from the pics.

    Thanks.

    haven't seen one yet

I've not seen one in any store or in use yet. Any ideas where to get one?

I've wear a 720 on my wrist and keep a 725 on the bars, the cadence and speed are perfectly reliable (until the batteries begin to go in the sensors.) The question I have is whether or not the sensors for the CS200CAD wil be compatible with the 725, and if data is downloadable via IR interface.

I just got the CS200CAD, and it seems like a good deal. The handlebar mount seems solid (I had a hard time getting it off the first time). I haven't hooked up the cadence or speed sensors, but the heart monitor works great.

The "Sonic Link" seems a bit dinky-this is cutting-edge Finnish technology??. It works with my laptop, because the microphone is right under the screen, but I couldn't get it to work with my desktop.

    a little info

Polar shipped the CS100s first so they are more readily available. The CS100 is available at Excel Sports and Colorado Cyclist online but I haven't seen the CS200cad available yet.

According to the Polar web site, the Cadence sensor for the 725 will work with the CS100 or CS200. There is also a cadence sensor available specifically for the CS100 or CS200. The Polar HR transmitters are universal for all of their models.

The CS200 won't use the IR interface, only sonic link. Also, from what I read on Polar's specs, the CS200 doesn't have the altitude sensor that the 7xx units have. Tracking altitude is an important part of my training---how can you make sense of the heart-rate data in your log book if you don't remember whether you were climbing or descending?---so I wouldn't go for one of the CS units until they catch up with the 7xx ones.
