    rim drive trainers?

Was wondering if anyone had any experience to share with a rim drive trainer like the Minoura E-Hyper Rim or Powermatic? I'm looking to get a trainer this winter but will only be using it to supplement my regular rides. Here in NorCal it rarely gets too nasty to ride outside, but I want something that I can hop on for an hour or two when I don't want to deal with the after-ride bike cleaning session.

    Minoura 850

Purchased the 850 last year. Like it a lot and put a lot of miles on it during early morning (pitch black outside) workouts. The only catch was that the bottom plastic bracket cracked. My friend sent an email and they sent a new unit free of charge. I just left mine off.

I paid $119.99 (I think) at my local LBS...

    Hope this helps,

    B.
