    Colnago Titanio Nuovo-Retro Build

I got this 2nd generation Titanio - came with full Shimano Ultegra and a big scratch.

I removed the Japanese gruppo fast, and destroyed all photos. I'll be stripping the paint and going with raw metal, and building it up with a Super Record Gruppo from 1982.

Take pics along the way. I always am too anxious with a new build and always forget. That scratch is repairable in the right hands. What are you planning to do about a decal set?

Anyone care to guess the weight of the Art Decor paint job?

The bike itself is 57x58cm (seat post X top tube, C-C).

    Colnago Titanio Nuovo-Retro Build

Paint job is 30 grams, most of it solvent resisting clear coat (arghh). Got most of the paint off, and some parts on - the 80's BB was too wide, but luckily I had an old OMAS ti BB in the parts store.

I'm leaning on selling the steel Master Olympic as the Ti bike has been my holy grail, so I'm not stressing on perfect paint removal as I'll be putting a modern gruppo on when the steel ride goes.

Leaning towards a carbon fork. Will strip the original down and hope it's chromed.

The ride is fantastic, the rear-end is a bit shorter the the Master. It needs some tape for the bars and black hoods, and clean up all the oily finger prints, clip cables and time to ride.

I agree the saddle needs to be levelled , is it the Colnago embroidered one ? and the bars need to point at the top of the rear tire at the minimum IMO , are you going to fit toeclips/straps and was the fork chromed ? lovely bike , cheers Ian
