    Columbia Tourist? Thoughts?

So I found an old Columbia Tourist for sale locally. Guy wants $10 for it. $10 for any bike is a good deal in my opinion so I'm gonna buy it. But does anyone know anything about these bikes? It's a cruiser (perfect for tooling with the kids)...bright yellow...3 speed.

Just looking for any info so I can tell the wife how cool it is.

If it was a Shimano 333 hub, buy beer instead, good beer. If it has a Sturmey Archer hub and shifter, you've made your money back.

Take it from a former flipper in a college town, most Columbia's are crap.

Thanks for the info. As it turns out, it would have been too big for me anyway. As it was going to be a neighborhood cruiser, I would have taken a little too big, but the guy who had it said he has a 36 inch inseam and it's just right for him. I've got a 32.

Based on what you say though, it sounds like my short inseam has finally paid off.

    Thanks again for the info.
