Looking for light wheels for Peugeot Bordeaux

I have a late 80's Peugeot Bordeaux 12 speed that is in great shape but I'd like to lighten it up a bit by getting some lighter wheels without spending too much $ while still keeping the vintage look intact. The wheels are original Maillard wheels/hubs. What kind of wheels should I look for that would be good for this bike - new or used or NOS - that wouldn't cost more than the bike is worth? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

If it's lightweight wheels you want, you're in luck. The 1970s and 1980s produced some of the lightest wheels ever made.

Some candidates, all weights refer to the rims, and all are tubulars:

    Fiamme Ergal: 270 grams

    Mavic GEL-280: 280 grams

Scheeren Weltmeister: 200 grams, balsa-wood filled aluminum

Any of these, except the Scheerens, show up on e-bay regularly. I had Scheerens on my track bike when I was a junior, they were mind-blowingly light.

Thanks for the tip -- just added them to my ebay alerts; hopefully something will show up.
