Miyata 718a Broken Derailleur
I have ave a stock 1989 Miyata 718a with Shimano Exage LX derailleurs. Today my rear derailleur broke. Can someone please suggest a new replacement/upgrade for my broken derailleur. Thank you!

pretty much any shimano derailleur will work, depending on the cage length of the exage, I'd grab a 105 or deore, great bang for the buck & equivalent in current component line.

thank you all for you help.
I have a long cage derailleur. In my local Craigslist I found a long cage Ultegra 6700 Derailluer for about $40, it looks in great condition.

Why not stay with the same derailleur? I couldn't find your exact derailleur, but I'm guessing it's this one with a different top plate. http://cgi.ebay.com/SHIMANO-EXAGE-50...item230f77b296 The price looks right also.
