Don't worry, if things get bad enough they will eventually decide that the First Amendment is obsolete too, along with a lot of the other Amendments.

This is what happens in a nanny state, give 'em everything society. One can not deal with the difficulties in life. The whole concept of 'adversity makes me stronger' is replaced with 'I didn't get what I deserved'.

Apparently he was working and making $30k per year. Oh the horrors.

The problem is that people think they "deserve" exactly what the other guy has. They never stop to think that the other guy might actually have less than they do. All they see if those that are more fortunate, and they want that.

2nd is the only one that refers to a material good (well, unless you count alcohol).

And your point is what? That they can ONLY take material goods away from us? That only Amendments involving material goods can be done away with, or become obsolete? Usefulness is mostly in the eye of the beholder.

No, my point is that because the 2nd refers to a material good it's more vulnerable to obsolescence.

I agree. They should update it to include tanks, military airplanes, machine guns, mortars, battleships, etc.

Just in case it isn't obvious, I'm joking.
