I use mine all the time. Even though I have year round riding, I have small kids and so I can usually get to riding after they've gone to bed.

I have a TV/DVD combo that I put Spinervals on. I mute that. Then I have an Bose ipod stereo that I put audiobooks on. I zone out listening to the books and keep an eye on the Spinervals and my heartrate. Time actually goes by fairly quickly.

I use trainer 3 times a week, Monday and Friday are rest days, ride outside on Saturday and sunday when weather agrees in warmer months. I do trainer five days during winter months. My routine starts with 6 a.m. in front of a TV watching newscast from local, financial to international statelite news, first with 10 minutes in 80 rpm, 30 minutes in 90-100 rpm, sometimes do a couple 120 - 130 sprints, ends with 10 minutes low rpm cool-downs. I always empty about 2 bottles of water while doing it. After all that, shower and dress up for my day boring job at the bank. Weeekends are real ride days

I am on my second trainer now. I prefer mag to wind-resist ones as these makes much less noise when adjust/set up properly.

I always making sure my posture on trainer session is right; sit squarely on the bike seat, arms and hands in the right spot and back arches just like I do outside riding. Also it is perfect time to train the pedaling tempo/cadence since you can take your attention away from the road condition and focus on your pedaling strokes.

Just put the trainer in front of TV ,put on 3 or 4 episodes of Namaste Yoga, seeing two hours of nice ladies doing yoga tends to make time pass away, in other words MTFU .
