For those who cannot afford a Sachs, the 2005 Derosa Primato

From the 2004 Eurobike show. Very nice. Hope the attached photo works.

That is a thing of beauty.

I like how they were able retain an old look with modern parts. Even the black Pato cage looks old gothic. The pedals have to go. I don't think this bike is available. I haven't seen it on the De Rosa site.

Derosa prices are pretty ridiculous as well now...I shoulda got one back when Maestro was selling Derosa.

About 3 years ago I told my DeRosa rep (Sinclair Imports rep actually) that I wouldn't even consider a Primato until they went truely retro and offered a box crown fork instead of the sloping unicrown fork they currently have. Seems someone told Ugo what I thought and he finally listened.

Good point, I knew there was something that I didn't really like about the Primato that is currently available but wasn't sure what it was. I also don't really care much for the rear drop outs either. Maybe you can convince them to make it with long drop outs and chrome them to boot.
