I am in a market to get a nice jersey and I am stuck between a couple of castelli jerseys with decent graphics at Real cyclist, and Simple solid color Mavic Espoir Jersey.
I prefer to have nice graphics on my jersey but if Mavic Jersey is absolutely fantastic I would love to try it out. Does anyone have experience with Mavic Jersey to chime in?
really nice lightweight ones, dont have anything heavy by them. super cool and comfortable. careful of the fit though, my experience i that they run small even for euro brands. rapha im a small/medium, assos medium, mavic large.
yeah that deal really made me want one. Actually I just ordered it. I am usually border line Medium and Large but after looking at Mavic sizing chart I am border line Large and X-large so I got X-large to be safe. I will report how I like it.... Thanks you all
I'm 6'0, 39.5" (100cm) chest, 30 1/2" (78cm) waist. I returned the medium Mavic jersey for a large. Large fits me like a team cut (snug everywhere, no loose material), Medium fit was too tight, couldn't zip collar without strangle hold.
I have a 15" neck, 11.5" biceps, 31" waist, 5'9" and 155lbs+/-. I bought a size M/M international or L Japan (I do not recall what the US equivalent size is). Length is perfect. It fits snug all over which is how I like my jersey's to fit, however it is a touch tight around the neck. The stitching, zipper and grippers are well done. The material feels warmer to me compared to Capo, Pactimo and Voler jersey's. A medium Capo or Pactimo Summit race cut jersey fits similar to the M/M Espoir. Pockets easy to access. Seems durable all around.
IIRC, the next size up was mainly too long and had too much material bunching up near tummy when in drops.
Alright, so I picked up the jersey in a size L. Fits really well, looks good, loving it.
I've worn it about 5 times, hand washed it. Hung it up last night to dry and realized there are already some small tears in the fabric starting where the pockets meet the jersey. Maybe they won't propagate, maybe they will. It's kind of like the little "cell" of the fabric is expanding.
I know it's a very light summer jersey but...a few wearings and this is happening? Not what I want when I paid that much for it.
Anyone else have this issue?
Already called Mavic and they told me to go to a dealer, get an authorization code, send it back.
I just wonder if I'm overreacting. Maybe the rips will stop? (haven't put anything but a mini tool and a tube in the pockets)
