We don't get a lot of mud, but the sharp spike like looks of these makes me think they would work well on wet, somewhat muddy grass. Or what would you suggest.
I just put on Fangos for this year and they worked great on both a dry course and the same course the next day after it had rained heavily overnight, so wet grass but not really muddy except on one or two worn areas.
33mm tubulars...
EDIT: I'm running the Challenge Fangos....forgot that FMB has a Fango as well...what is the deal with that anyways? Is FMB the elite line of Challenge tires?

The Super Muds are really amazing mud tires. Even on normal soil types they roll well, thanks to the tightly spaced center tread. If it's really dry and hardpack they will squirm a bit on you. But, if it's damp/wet/muddy they will do fine.
I've also found them to work well on dry loose courses.
The suppleness of the casing will surprise you if this is your first "nice" tubular. Consider running an SSC, Grifo, or Grifo2 FMB tire on the rear and Super Mud on the front, if you don't need a true mud setup (yet are still looking for more grip).
Last season I used Super Muds in the rain/mud for the USGP events in Madison and Boulder as well as the deluge at Masters Worlds and while we could debate whether it made any difference, I certainly noticed that I was riding sections were others were running/falling.
The fango is a good tire in fast dry conditions. In anything muddy or slick it lacks the center knobs to bite in. If you want something more dual purpose I'd use the grifo.
The supper mud and the limus are great mud tires but when the conditions are not muddy they tend to squirm a bit in corners. I wouldn't say either are optimal tires fast conditions.
I used the Gripo Xl as a mud tire before Francois introduced the Super Mud and it worked okay but from my experiences and observations last year, when it was goopy like Maddison or slimy, thick goo/muck like Fort Collins and Lousiville, many were on either the Super Mud or Challenge Limus.
