so i got a specialized awol a few months back and been having fun with it as a commuter but was wanting to do a little offroad riding.now the bike as its listed is said to be able to accept up to a 29x2.1 tire and upon fitting a cst critter of that size found that when i was in the littlest ring on the crank the fd would rub the tire ,oh by the way i have the base awol spec'ed with shimano sora and a fsa omega triple crank 50/39/30.well after learning of this i decided since i dont spend a whole lot of time in the biggest ring that maybe a mountain double was needed.so having gotten a good deal on a shimano slx 38/26 crank i fitted it on and to my surprise everything worked fairly well except that the sora triple fd was sitting 2 inches above the new big ring.tried lowering it but it rubs the frame.now in its original position it worked rather well but sluggishly and so i decieced to trade it out for a mountain fd.i have an older altus top swing low clamp triple fd that i installed and shifting on front was ok but seems squirrly so was wanting to know what you guys thought about installing a deore or slx top swing low clamp double fd on it,if that would shift better than the altus triple i have on now.now im a fairly smart fellow and a decent wrench but am confused as to the ability of the sora triple shifter to shift a dynasys mountain front derailluer .thank you guys for any info you have.
