Vittoria KX tubies for my Amer. Classic Carbon38's and Serfas FPS for my everyday wheels. Never flatted on Serfas and have run over tons of glass and just about anything else you can think of.
For tubulars, veloflex are my favorites--the criterium is a great tire and the wider roubaix (24) is nice for rougher roads or more general riding. I've heard good things about the carbons too (that they're very similar to the criteriums), but I've never tried them.
I can think of two reasons. More people tend to circulate around general discussion and they tend to be more representative of the whole RBR group. I think that the tubular/clincher proportion in wheels & tires is way off from the rest of the population.
I dig the Veloflex Corsa. It's 700 x 20 and comes in a little higher TPI count (I think). Pulled staples and all kinds of stuff out of 'em without flats.
