09 BB bearing cup ID oversize

a new thread, the other BB thread was bearing specific.

My Madone has a loose non drive side bearing fit, the bearing is spinning inside the bore.

My 08 was fine, this is on an 09 5.5.

Dealer called Trek, they are sending some new spec bearings, I'm 99.9% certain this will not resolve the problem. Worth a try, its to cold to ride anyway.

I'm not sure what the fix is if the new bearings don't work........not to worried, Trek have a great warranty policy.

This bike has less than 500km on it.

That doesn't sound good. Examine the socket very closely and see if it is cracked anywhere around the lip. However, I, too, am skeptical about a new bearing working.

FWIW: I used the same set of bearings on a swap from an '08 to an '09 and the NDS bearing was just as tight on both frames. Snaped in and very snug.

Any Update? SRAM cranks needed a special non drive side bearing. It is a 22mm instead of a 24mm I believe.

the 08 and 09 bike use the exact same Shimano DA crank.......not sure what came with 5.5, mine are 180mm so are not stock I guess. It's a 64cm.

They use a different bearing than the bonty crank.
