11Spd Hub with 10Spd Cassette Spacer Question

I just got some new wheels for my old 10 spd (sram) CX bike, but the wheels are an 11spd hub. I know there is a 1.8mm spacer you can buy, but I was curious if the plastic spacer (round, no grooves or notches) from the middle of an old casette would work as well? I installed the cassette with the plastic spacer and everything is snug as it should be, just don't know if it will do any harm or not. Let me know if I need to get the spacer or if this will work. Thanks!

It won't last long. Get the proper (metal) spacer.
