An entry-level tire with crappy rolling resistance and also made by Mavic. I'm shocked.

Mavic's tires are made by Hutchinson. And the difference is less than 5 watts than the other tires, generally 3, the sort of difference folks will poo-poo in other areas.

True, but why bother to force them on the user, who then has to buy better tires anyway? Honestly, I just don't get Mavic's tactic of including tires. It's idiotic, especially when there are much better tires available at decent prices.

Yeah, I can see just selling the wheels for $100 less or something along those lines, but they like the system idea. Still, most riders can just wear them out then put on the tires they like.

You try the Yksion Pros. The Elites are the tires you'd get on wheels like the Ksyrium Equippe or Aksium. The pros are actually good tires. I am a fan of Specialized Turbo Pros and Conti GP4000S IIs. The Yksion Pros are so good that they are my go to now for racing. I love how they feel in the corners. They don't last as long as the GP4000s IIs, but I still love the performance of them.
