Does this sound like it will work...?

Hey guys...new poster here. I was wondering your thoughts on the Chinese carbon wheels..i saw the thread but had a few specific questions. I'm in the market for a wheelset and am not even close to wanting to spend 2-3k on a light set of tubulars. I was looking at a 60mm carbon rim from china, chris king hubs and bladed spokes. This set up is going to run me about 850..and if the specs are right weight about 1150..what do you think? is it worth putting such a nice set of hubs on a cheap carbon rim? Is the carbon rim even going to hold up for everyday riding? Thanks for any help!

BTW here are the links to the rims..

The hubs will do their thing regardless of what rims you have. The question boils down to the reliability of the rims, and with cheap no-name rims, that's an unknown quantity.
    ... 'cuz that's how I roll.

why not spend less on the hubs and more on the rims?

Nothing against King, but for about the same money (less actually) you can get these complete wheels handbuilt in the USA (with foreign parts) with an impeccable customer service record, jsut E-mail Boyd and see #1 how fast his response time is, and how through his response is. It will blow you away:

Those 2012 Boyd's are sold out. I'd still recommend the $1,300 for their 2013 wheels before getting the Chinese rims.

the closeouts are not sold out, only in the lower spoke count at the moment (we're about to get more 20 hole front hubs to build the rest of the 58s up). if you choose the 24/28 spoke count option then you'll see we still have them available.

the 2013 stuff is almost all in stock (only currently out of 44mm depth in the lower spoke count)
