Equinox (Gigantex) does a tri-spoke. They are a quality shop. They're in Taiwan.

Thanks had a look but they are all about 800+ whilst Planet X sell them retail for 599 in the uk so I was hoping for something a bit cheaper. I may just go for a cheap set of 88mm carbon clinchers until I can afford some HED wheels.

    carbonezone

I purchased a set of 88mm Clinchers from Carbonzone and here's the scoop:

Did a "Buy It Now" on friday 02/25/11 and was told they would ship out in 2-3 days!! it was 18 days later.

I ordered Black spokes, black hubs and red nipples.. and after 10 days I received an email asking If I take red hubs and red nilpple he would ship with-in two days. I said yes and it was another 8 days before the wheel were shipped out.

Chk out the shipping box.. the wheel were fine.

Products as described and Communication A++

Just ordered 20mm 215g (I think they will be more like 230g) rims from Far Sport.
    Circus monkey hubs from ebay
DT revs for front and DT comps added to my latest starbike order.
I'll probably add some nipple washers once I see how big the holes in the rims are.

All told, a conservative estimate of 1070g for AU$470.

I'm not sure if this has been posted on this forum, but there is a new thread on Slowtwitch about a recent 'warranty' experience about Yishin wheels. My apologies if it has.

    Quote:

"I bought a very nice pair of 38 mm carbon wheels at Yishunbike.
    Great price,quick delivery.
After about 500km of use on very sweet roads, the front wheel began to make noise.
Nothing visible to the naked eye, no damage done.I sent an e-mail to Yishun saying I was going to send them the wheel to have it checked in the warranty period(new wheel).
They answered me not to send it to them and have it fixed wherever I wanted because THEY DO NOT WARRANTY THEiR PRODUCTS IF THEY HAVE BEEN USED!!!!!!!!! It means no warranty on their products!
Be careful with chinese products, buy American and European ,sometimes made in China, but at least warranted by the seller!
Good training to all of you."

The spoke bedding is 3mm even on the super-light ones....That's 50% more goods than
many competitors. I'd skip the washers.....

'Nother thing. You prolly wont get the washers through the tire bedding

Very true, there is no room for washers.

I'm impressed with Far Sport so far. Under 7 days between payment and the arrival in Australia of my 20mm UD matt finish rims. The finish of the rims is great, hopefully the rims themselves are equal.

Unfortunately the spokes I ordered from starbike at the same time haven't even shipped yet. With some Circus Monkey hubs, 24 DT Revs front and 24 DT comps rear, my wheels will be around 1055-75g for under US$470.

Has anyone ordered 24mm tubulars? If so, could you put some photos up and maybe some feedback? It seems everyone is using the deep section rims and enjoying them but I am putting together a wheelset for a vintage steel bike and I think the lower profile will suit the bike better.

Also, Yishun, will there ever be a 24mm clincher?

    Thanks.

Circus monkey hubs, Revs front and comps rear. I could have gone lighter but that would cost more $s. Until I work out I can trust these rims I don't want to be buying tune hubs or the like.

Received my YS-NP 50mm matte 3k tubulars from Stefano (Yishun) today.

Have yet to ride them so cannot comment on ride quality and durability yet but they look fantastic. I more so wanted to share my Yishun/Stefano experience here because there is a what I believe to be a disproportionate amount of negativity on this site due to a few unfortunate experiences of a small number of individuals.

I ordered/paid April 1 and received wheels to Vancouver April 14. Exactly what I ordered and exactly the 6 extra spokes I requested.

    Thanks Stefano & Karen!

How did you order from Far Sport? Alibaba or direct etc.?
Also how much was shipping to Aus.

    Cheers

Although I chatted with Mae Lee and she sent me an invoice and paypal payment request as I wanted 24 holes front and rear.

    $29 postage to Aus

Seeing as you are in my club (I think), you can buy my wheels once I've built them, I'm only doing it to see if I can. Having said that I think someone has already laid claim.

Cheers. I'm looking for some 50mm tubulars with campag hubs though.
Their wheelsets look like they may be good. Especially as they supply them with CX-rays.

I'm currently running Yishun 50mm clinchers. IIRC, the stated weight limit on them was 265lbs. I'm ~200lbs and have experienced no issues. Minor quibbles might be that the rear hub is louder than I prefer (I have the older Chosen hubs, which BTW, I can confirm are campy 11-speed compatible), but admit I'm getting used to the loud buzz. Also, I'm getting an annoying squeal when braking hard (Swissstop yellows). Otherwise, I'm riding them hard and enjoying the 'heck' out of 'em.
