KHS Urban Xcel hybrid, taco'd front wheel..fixable?

I got a nice used bike off Craigslist

2007 KHS Urban Xcel - BikePedia

Except, I crashed it on the way home..!! The front wheel is taco'd..off-center on both sides. I had to "kick on it", to get rid of rub on the front fork..limped home on it. Amazingly, it is holding air at 80 psi..

Is this rim straighten-able, or should I just get a new rim & re-lace the wheel..using old spokes/nipples?

The rim/wheel is a Weinmann SP-17. Should I stick with it, or get a better rim..on current market?

You probably can't get the rim straight again.

Would you rebuild the wheel yourself?
Whatever new rim you bought would have to match the old for spoke length. I don't think most builders reuse old spokes anyway.

Those wheels are relatively low level and you could buy a replacement for what it would cost for a rim and spokes: Amazon.com: road front wheel - Cycling: Sports & Outdoors
