As said coming from a set of Neuvations SL3(27mm rim, round spokes), rear wheels replaced after hub failure, no questions asked fron John, even after several years of use: nobody beat his customer service.
This being said, the SL3's have been on a Shwinnn 853 steel bike, a Litespeed Teramo, a Cervélo RS...and now n the Siena, they have done their job, front wheel 15000km and rear at 6000km.
I just want something with more oomph( more reactive) and the rear neuvation creaks, might be that it's toasted.
I'm 165, i ride semi flats/hills, windy most of the time, with short but intense climbs(i'm smooth on flats, agressive on climbs...i enjoy them), new frame is Litespeed Siena, sweet, front could be a tad stiffer (easton slx fork?) so i want to have a wheelset that purrs, not grinds. Tires are and will most likely remain contis 4000s.
So i'm down to these:
Soul 2.0, 1330g, 500$.
BWW, Blackset race 11 or pure race, 1405g to 1435g, with cx ray build are 500-590$.
Williams system 19, 1420g, 500$, but hubs seem to be a problem.
PWB buid with kinlin xr200, alchemy hubs, cx rays, 1321g but 828$.
You get the picture.
I'd like to stay close or below 500$ and 1300-1350g.
