    Performance Forte' Pro SL comments?

What are your impressions of these tires?

Trying to decide between these and some Fortezza SE's that I see in the Performance listing. Looking to spend about $25 max.

    They are pretty fair tires...
I believe that they are made by Panaracer for Performance.
If your opinion differs from mine, ..........Too bad.

Buying parts to hang on your bike is always easier than getting fit.

I'd seen "Panracer" on the tires when I stopped by the shop last time. I was a bit iffy which motivated this post. At the current price it is tempting.

    Thanks.

If the package says "Made in Japan", then the tires are probably made by Panaracer. If they are made in Taiwan or Korea or mainland China, then who knows.

    Just mounted two

They are made in Japan by Panaracer. The 700x23 weighs 205 grams which is 15 more than the advertised weight. The tires mounted fairly easy.....not overly tight like new Pro Races but not loose either. The tires are much narrower than the Pro Races I took off. They are .090" of an inch narrower. I would estimate that they are closer to being a 700x21. The narrower profile actually looks great! I will ride them tomorrow and post my initial impression.

    Thumbs up Test Ride.

110 psi for the front and 115 psi for the rear and they rode just like the Pro Races. They rolled extremely nice and seem to be very grippy. I can't vouch for the cut resistant or durability on this 25 mile ride but I honestly think that they are a very good value at $20!! I also like the stealthy black that they come in.

Yup, my experience too: very soft profile compound, terrific traction, first class ride. They reminded me much of Axial Races - including the ease with which they were cut. I'm almost certain that they're a re-badged Pana Stradius. I don't know about the stealth part, mine were visible even in low-light conditions!

I've used them for a few years without any problems. I would have bought some more, a few weeks ago, but the local retail Performance was blowing out their Pro Race's for $21 to make room for the newer Pro Race II .
