Rolf Prima Elan Aero, welded or just butted seams?

    Hello,

I am in the same miserable boat now waiting for Mavic to replace my recalled R-Sys wheel on my Cannondale SuperSix. I can't go without wheels until 3-31 or who knows when. I need to buy something else right away.

From the great posts here I have decided on the Rolf Prima Elan Aeros in silver, and cannot find anywhere, even on Rolf's website, if the seams are welded or just butted up against each other. I hate that "thump thump" you get in cold weather when you hit the brakes with a butted seam. I definately want welded seams.

Does anybody have these out there and know? I would appreciate the information.

    Thanks,

    Dusty

    P.S.

On the Mavic recall typo, my LBS informed me that Mavic is indeed giving a free replacement SET, not just the single front wheel, for you to keep, and will replace the R-Sys wheel free when it comes in late March, 2009.

I have Vigors and without taking the tires off I see what looks like a fine scratch 180 degrees opposite the valve stem. I would guess welded. Call/email Rolf I am sure they can answer your question.
